I got back in the saddle last Wednesday after taking almost a week and a half off because of vacation. I took my camera but when i got there i realized I had forgot the memory card in the computer so no pics. But to be honest im not sure I would have stopped to take them. My legs felt the best they have this year and i was riding the 13 mile loop at warrior creek including the extension and i was on pace to ride the fastest lap there all year aside from the first one in the 6 hour race (you cant ever simulate an actual race pace).
However at about the 7 mile mark I went high on a bermed corner covered with leafs and hit something almost going over the bars and then I heard "chshhhhhhhhhhh" and looked down to see my front tire going flat. This was the first tire I had popped since march so i couldn't complain much except that my front tire is 2.35 and maybe bigger and therefor a challenge to get back on the rim. I manged however and went on to finish the lap in just over an hour twenty minutes aside from the time changing the tire.
My rear freehub has been popping and skipping for a couple weeks and as i was pedaling back to the truck I could tell it was done once again. I took it to the shop today and left it because I dont have the tools to fix it.
In other news i received my new pair of racers edge grips from ESI today. I have been running road bar tape for about a year and really liked it but it was annoying with it coming loose and having to rewrap it every couple months. So I decided to invest in these silicon grips coming in at 51 grams. They are currently at the bike shop but Ill give a review and pics after my next ride probably Wednesday.
I did get an awesome water bottle though for only an extra dollar.
