I always ride with not one but two spare tubes, patches, two spare links, c02 and a pump, as well as a multi tool.

For the last two months however I have been on an unusual streak of good fortune. I rode a the 6 hours of warrior creek with no problems. Also I rode my first two series races with no problems. Not to mention all of the day to day rides with not so much as a flat.
All good things must come to an end.
I decided todays ride would cover the 8 mile Burn loop at dark mtn and then roll over to the OVT to do the 12 mile out and back and also include the 5 mile shiners run loop. I set out today for my 3+ hour ride not feeling so great and laid on the ground trying not to throw up about 20 mins in. The trails where about the wettest Iv ever rode them and conditions where overall miserable. I struggled though the Dark Mtn loop however feeling a bit better toward the end.
I headed to OVT feeling much better and hoped for better trail conditions. No dice. However I still started to enjoy the ride when i hiot shiners run. This is the first time iv taken the time to ride that loop since it was first built and it has turned into a very fun a flowy trail that ill be sure to include from now on.
I rode the rest of the trail and made it to the turn back point feeling pretty well for being 17 miles and a bit over 3 hours into my ride (slow i know). I pulled out some peanut butter cracker and sit trying to refuel for the return journey. I had noticed however that my seat had become loose I needed to be tightened. I started tightening it and couldnt get it to snug up. Then out of nowhere ah yes...I remember that feeling.
The bolt that holds the seat on had snapped in half. I assume it had got loose, which is a regular occurrence, and then i hit it just right and snap. I do need a new post but i was kinda thinking about trying bar ends...guess not. You may also notice the tube taped to the downtube in the first pick that is not present in the next one must have lost it on the trail. I really liked those tubes to.
Anyway I guess I found the failure at a good time because i only had about a two mile road ride back to the truck on this bike bringing my ride to about 20 miles and 3.5 hours. Not a bad ride overall felt good but broken parts mean missed seat time.
And that all I have to say about that....
