Rainy Day

Woke up to a steady rain all day here in the Wilkes county which convinced me to abandon my usual training ride. And thus any other outdoor plans today.

I guess today Ill outline my newest training schedule to try to improve on some discouraging finishes the past couple races. The plan is nothing fancy and has no V02 or heart rate content but is just a way for me to get out and try to improve. Maybe some day ill feel good enough that i need all those sophisticated plans to get better.

Right now on Monday i usually go up to the W. Kerr Scott Reservoir to ride some combination of Dark Mountain, Over mountain Victory Trail, and Warrior Creek. This is my day to get in a long ride where i shoot for 4+ hours and 30+ miles.

Tuesday off.

Wednesday is race day so if im not racing that day i go out and ride for around an hour at race pace.

Thursday I throw in some intervals. Not figured it out for sure yet but right now im doing 2 sets of 6 one minute hard as you can go one minute recover.

Friday I generally get on the road for a few hours ranging from 2 to 4 hours.

As i said nothing scientific but i hope to see some results.

Also just to mention I am a big fan of pro cycling and love to watch them climb and sprint for the finish. Maybe more than that though i like to watch their strategies develop. I say that just to say that the Tour of California is shaping up to be a great one headed into the individual time trial tomorrow. Go Shack.

I know finally a purely cycling related blog...

Just to note im gonna try to keep this a Mon - Fri blog unless something that needs immediate attention comes up.

Thats all I have to say about that...
